Thread This Needle

If you would thread this needle --
pass through to the other side,
that we might stitch our life together --

You must first interweave
your own strands:
gather up your disparate parts,
bind them together as an act of love;
make of them
a single
solid
rope of oneness.

Any loose ends,
any frayed connections
will surely prohibit entry
through this narrow gate.
